Writer, film maker and public speaker

Public speaking

Brenda Ní Shúilleabháin is a public speaker, as Seán O'Casey would say "of perspicacity and gumption". Her humour, her empathy, her quickwitted humour makes her a pleasure in any environment. When speaking in public, she interacts with her audience, bringing them on a journey with her. Her topics stem from her work in collection of oral history, as well, of course, as from her broad experience as a school headmistress (they hear everything), and her travels from Outer Mongolia to Timbouctou.

Brenda speaking
  • "On Monday evening, October 15th, the documentary film Men of Ventry by Brenda Ní Shúillleabháin was presented in Veritas Auditorium in Elms College.
The feeling that was generated that evening in Veritas Auditorium spoke to the very strong sense of community that exists among the local Irish population and the desire of the Irish Amerian "kids" to try to sustain the history and culture that was passed down to us from our parents.
